Your generosity and commitment continue to inspire us, and your contributions make a lasting impact in communities nationwide.
For many of our volunteer roles, there are no set commitments. If you can support us for one or two hours per week, or for a few hours every few months, we welcome your valuable help.
We have various volunteer opportunities for people to get involved at the Heart Foundation. We strive to align you to a role that suits your skills, strengths, interests and lived experience.
Our volunteers receive ongoing guidance and support from a dedicated supervisor, as well as connection with team members and fellow volunteers.
Our volunteers donate their valuable time to support our work, and we celebrate the meaningful impact they make across the Heart Foundation.
If there are no suitable opportunities for you, you can complete an expression of interest and we will be in touch if a suitable volunteer role comes available.
If you would like to speak with someone about volunteering at the Heart Foundation, please email volunteer@heartfoundation.org.au
Our volunteers need to be at least 18 years of age.
Yes, some of our volunteer roles can be completed remotely, for example, our Research Consumer Advisory Committee Volunteers complete their role 100% online.
Many of our volunteer roles require a National Police Check and some roles may require a Working with Children Check. This requirement will be outlined in the Volunteer Position Description.
Your role will have a Volunteer Position Description that outlines the volunteer activities and expectations. Our volunteers are also asked to review and accept our Volunteer Agreement and Code of Conduct before commencing their new role.
We provide our volunteers with role specific training. Depending on the role, this may be in the format of pre-recorded videos, online webinars or may be in-person. We encourage our volunteers to let us know what further training they are interested in, and we will do our best to support learning and development opportunities where possible.
There are many options for you to get involved, and it really depends on what you hope to get out of a volunteer role with us. Here are some examples of how people have supported our work:
If you or someone you care about has heart disease, you already know the devastating impact it can have on individuals, their loved ones and their wider community. By sharing your heart story, you can help save lives. Learn more by visiting this page.
Yes, we have community-based volunteer programs. Please check out these programs to learn more.
We do our very best to ensure you don’t incur any out-of-pocket expenses for volunteering with us. On some occasions, we will reimburse certain expenses, for example if you need to travel a significant distance to participate in a volunteer activity or training event. We always welcome discussions with you on this matter.
Yes, many of our volunteers sign-up for roles through a system called ‘MyImpact’, with the exception of our Walk Organisers who sign-up through the Heart Foundation Walking website. If you need any help navigating MyImpact, please contact volunteer@heartfoundation.org.au.
