NSW CVRN Career Advancement Grant

A grant to support Early-Mid Career Researchers 

Purpose

Provides funding to support Early-Mid Career Researchers (EMCRs) who are returning to research after a significant leave of absence to subsidise activities to:

• Enable researchers to build their capacity and capability, thereby strengthening their career track records and​
• Enhance their competitiveness for research grant funding.

Eligibility

To be eligible to receive this award the applicant must meet the following criteria:

• Up to 10 years post PhD (excluding career disruptions – see below) and below A/Prof level
• A member of the CVRN and employed at a NSW CVRN Umbrella Organisation for the duration of the grant
• Valid visa / residency status for duration of funding
• A cardiovascular researcher investigating any aspect of cardiovascular disease, including stroke, diabetes and kidney disease
• Have a leave of absence as defined in the grant guidelines (and provide the appropriate evidence for the nature and length of this leave)
• Have not previously received a Career Advancement Grant from the NSW CVRN.

Funding

• Up to the value of $25,000 + GST is available to assist with any activity which can be justified to result in a significant contribution and advancement to the applicant’s career and career track record. See guidelines for excluded expenditure items.
• Only one applicant per person will be funded per funding round.
• The grant must be expended within 12 months of award.
