Dr Marie Ludlow

National Manager Regional Affairs

Dr Marie Ludlow is a senior health executive with more than 30 years’ experience across public health, research and the not‑for‑profit sector. She brings strong capability in strategic leadership, governance, stakeholder engagement and delivery of complex national programs.

Marie joined the National Heart Foundation in 2019 and has held several senior leadership roles, including SA General Manager and Executive Officer in the Office of the CEO.

As National Manager, Regional Affairs, Marie provides national leadership to the General Managers across all jurisdictions. She works to strengthen regional capability, elevate state‑based programs and partnerships, and ensure alignment between national strategy and local delivery.

Marie began her career in clinical research and holds a PhD from Flinders University, focusing on the mental health impacts of cardiac surgery. She has extensive experience working with governments, clinicians, researchers, industry partners and community stakeholders, and is committed to improving cardiovascular health outcomes for all Australians.

Our Board

The role of the Board is to provide strategic oversight and direction for the Heart Foundation’s activities and ensure that those organisational activities are directed towards achieving its vision of an Australia free of heart disease and its mission to prevent heart disease and improve the heart health and quality of life of all Australians through our work in prevention, support and care and research.
