Abstract submissions are now closed for the South Australian Cardiovascular Research Network (SA CVRN) Emerging Leaders Symposium 2026. We invited submissions from students and early- and mid-career researchers for consideration in oral and poster presentation sessions, as well as prize categories.

The 2026 Emerging Leaders Symposium will feature invited plenary speakers with national expertise in cardiovascular research and leadership.

Dr Niamh Chapman is a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Sydney, leading the Health Equity and Hypertension Group.
A Heart Foundation Future Leader and Churchill Fellow, she co-chairs the Australian Hypertension Taskforce Patient Engagement Working Group and leads international patient guidelines.
Her research focuses on improving hypertension detection, care and community-led health service delivery.

Focused on cell signalling, receptor biology and drug discovery, with publications in leading journals including Cell and Nature Cardiovascular Research.
Secured over $4.9M in funding and received multiple national awards. Uses advanced omics approaches to develop new therapies targeting cardiac fibrosis and heart failure.
