Developing a national strategy for improving out-of-hospital cardiac arrest outcomes
Survival from the life-threatening event of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest is dependent on rapid response by the community and emergency services. Our recent research has uncovered significant regional variation in this response across Australia. We now aim to conduct simulation modelling in order to predict where changes to modifiable factors, such as bystander CPR, will lead to the greatest improvement in incidence and survival. This work will inform a national implementation strategy to improve outcomes from out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.
