Porridge with stewed apples and chopped pecans

15 - 17 minutes (5 minutes)
Serves 4
  • 4 medium Green Apples, peeled, cored and cut into small pieces
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 1/2 cups Rolled Oats
  • 3 cups reduced fat milk
  • 200g reduced fat Greek yoghurt
  • 2 tablespoons pecans, roughly chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  1. Place apples and water in a large saucepan over medium-low heat. Bring to the boil. Reduce heat to low.
  2. Simmer, covered, for 8-10 minutes or until apple is tender. Set aside.
  3. Place rolled oats and milk in a large saucepan over medium heat. Bring to the boil, stir with a wooden spoon, then boil for 5-7 minutes until oats are thick and creamy. Remove from the heat.
  4. Spoon into bowls and top with yoghurt, stewed apples, chopped pecans and cinnamon.
