This page gives you a clear overview of what’s involved in the Active Australia Innovation Challenge. Below you’ll find a simple 12- step process from submitting your application through to delivering your project.
For detailed requirements beyond the 12 steps, please refer to the application guide. If your application is successful, you’ll receive additional information and support throughout your project.
Make sure you and your organisation meet the eligibility criteria, including having an ABN and being based in Australia.
Learn about your target community group, gather evidence to support your idea and draft your responses. Finalise your project budget and timeline, and check your spelling for clarity before applying.
When you're ready, click Apply now to begin your application on SmartSimple, our external online grants platform. You’ll need to register for a SmartSimple account before accessing the online application.
Complete all required questions in the grants management portal and submit your application before the deadline.
All eligible applications will be assessed by Heart Foundation judging panels using a set of criteria. The top 20 projects will progress to the final stage: a live pitch presentation.
Finalists are invited to an online meeting to present their idea to a panel of experts from across Australia.
Successful grant recipients are notified by email.
Your funding agreements will be sent to you to review and sign.
Once your contract is finalised, your grant funds will be transferred to your nominated bank account.
