George is a happy, curious 10-year-old who loves animals — especially dinosaurs. He’s a loving big brother to Nina and brings endless joy to his parents, Fiona and Johnny. But two years ago, their world turned upside down.
At just 8 years old, George had a sudden cardiac arrest in his bedroom. Thanks to the quick thinking of his dad, who performed CPR until paramedics arrived, George was rushed to hospital and survived. He was soon diagnosed with Brugada Syndrome — a rare, life-threatening genetic heart condition that’s usually only detected after age 40.
Although there is no cure for Brugada Syndrome, George now has an innovative new medical implant that monitors his condition, allowing him to live a full and happy life.
George was one of the lucky ones. With your support, we can fund life-saving research and initiatives so more families like George’s can have a future together.
Donate today to help save hearts like George’s.
I feel grateful that research and technology has ensured George has the latest and greatest device. But more needs to be done. Sadly, circumstances look so different for other families.”
