Stroke Prevention Grant

The purpose of the Stroke Prevention Grant (SPG) is to generate an innovative and collaborative program of research demonstrating Australia’s capacity to address and solve a significant problem within the prevention of stroke. It is expected that this funding opportunity will create an outstanding program of work that is highly-esteemed, internationally competitive and able to leverage significant further funding.

This was a once-off funding opportunity in relation to the prevention of stroke.

The SPG was open to all applications who could demonstrate an ability to conduct a program of research in stroke prevention. Ideally applications were senior, experienced and have a significant track record in national and/or international collaborations and an ability to attract further funding for the program.

The duration of funding is up to five years.

The Heart Foundation contribution for the Stroke Prevention Grant will be up to $3-5 million in total, and it is anticipated that 1-2 programs will be funded.

This award closed on 12th May 2017 and will not be offered in 2018.
