E O Myers Trust Fund

The E O Myers Trust Fund provides grants to support medical education, advancing the knowledge and skill of cardiology health professionals in South Australia.

Travel criteria
This travel grant is available to assist with expenses relating to:

  • Travel costs to attend a cardiology-related conference or meeting
  • Travel costs to gain experience and knowledge from other cardiac units
  • Travel costs associated with inviting recognised experts from interstate or overseas to impart their skills and experience
  • The costs of hosting a cardiology-related meeting within Australia

Eligibility 
For an application to be eligible, the applicant must:

  • be a health professional working in a cardiac unit of a South Australian hospital,
  • meet one of the above travel criteria,
  • be applying for future travel and not for retrospective expenditure,
  • acknowledge any similar funding received from another source, and 
  • not have received funding from the E O Myers Trust within the last two years.

What’s the value of the grant? 
This program funds four grants in 2022 with three valued up to $1,500 and one valued up to $3,000.

When can you apply?
The E O Myers Trust Travel Grant opens twice per year for applications.

Round One:
Applications open: 16 February 2022
Applications close: 1 April 2022

Round Two opens in July.

How should you apply?
Applications should be in the form of a letter outlining the purpose of the grant request and must include supporting documentation, conference registration brochure, flight and accommodation details (if applicable).

Applications also require a letter of support from a Senior Manager in your hospital.
