Have you had a heart and stroke check?

The Heart Foundation and the Stroke Foundation have developed an easy to read resource that explains the importance of having a heart and stroke check with your local doctor or nurse.

The resource, Have you had a heart and stroke check?, provides clear and simple messages to explain what a heart and stroke check is, why it’s important and what action can be taken to reduce the risk of having a heart attack or stroke.

A heart and stroke check is for people who:

  • are 45 and over (35 and over for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples)
  • have not had a heart attack or stroke before

Have you had a heart and stroke check? - A resource to explain your first step to help prevent a heart attack or stroke.
