The Lighthouse Toolkit

We developed a quality improvement toolkit, ‘Improving health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples with acute coronary syndrome’, to provide a framework to address health disparities.

The toolkit aims to:

  • ensure care providers meet minimum standards of care and cultural safety
  • identify practices and actions that can and/or should be improved
  • improve healthcare services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples with ACS.

The toolkit outlines four areas that are critical in providing holistic care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and their families as they journey through the hospital system and return to their communities.

The four domains are: governance, cultural competence, workforce and care pathways.

The Lighthouse Toolkit is available here to download:

Checklists and templates

Our checklists and templates will help you look at how your hospital can implement better practices to ensure it is a safe and culturally appropriate environment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients. These checklists can be edited electronically or printed.
