These heart health and treatment resources were developed specifically for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients during Phase 3. They were designed to help patients understand heart health and risk factors, and to prepare for treatment and procedures and to increase awareness of specific services and programs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Educational resources for staff
These educational resources were designed to provide staff with easily accessible cultural and community service information to ensure culturally safe care, inform treatment and appropriate referrals and to increase awareness of standard practice in identifying Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Hospital policies, procedures and forms
A range of policies and procedures were developed in Phase 3 to embed process and system change in standard practice. Forms were also created to standardise information collection processes and ensure culturally safe care.
