About the forum
Join us in welcoming Dr Clara Chow, to present the results from the TextCare trial, a randomised control trial investigating the effects of lifestyle-focused text messaging on risk factor modification in patients with coronary heart disease.
The TextCare trial consisted of 710 patients with known coronary heart disease. The trial investigated the effectiveness of text messaging as a means of delivering health advice, support and motivational reminders to patients, in reducing LDL cholesterol, blood pressure and weight.
Professor Chow will present the positive results of the trial, the future directions and implications for this work, and how this could inform behaviour change counselling in clinical practice.
Light refreshments provided.
