Frequently Asked Questions

When will I receive my Big Heart Appeal collector kit?

In 2018, we are looking at new and more convenient ways for doorknock volunteers to support the Heart Foundation. So, there will NOT be a call out for doorknockers this year and no kits will be distributed.

Why is the Big Heart Appeal doorknock not happening this year?

Doorknock volunteers have told us that doorknocking is becoming more challenging and this has been reflected in the declining results of the doorknock itself.

Will the doorknock happen again next year?

A decision hasn’t been made at this point. Right now, we are currently exploring more exciting and inviting ways for the doorknocker community to support the Heart Foundation. Our doorknockers are very generous, passionate and busy community-minded individuals, so our priority is to engage them in activities that are both relevant and rewarding. We will be in touch as soon as we have progressed this further.

When is that likely to be?

We expect to be back in touch with our doorknock volunteer community later this year.

Doorknock raises over $1 million each year. How will you replace that money?

More than 80% of Heart Foundation funds come from generous donations from the general public. So, we are committed to finding easier, more inviting and accessible ways for volunteers to support us into the future. This is a current priority for the organisation.
