Joanne's Story

When Joanne Parke had a heart attack, her husband and paramedics had to revive her 8 times to save her life, all while her terrified children listened from the next room.

Heart disease is the number 1 killer of women in Australia. It takes our mothers, wives, daughters and nans.

Like Joanne Parke, the vast majority of women don’t even know they are at risk, so they don’t know what signs to look for and they don’t know what to ask their doctors about.

Joanne didn’t know until she had a massive heart attack in front of her three children. She was only 38, fit and active. Joanne’s life was saved by a call to Triple Zero and by her husband, who knew CPR.

But some time soon, maybe today, someone else’s mum or wife will have a heart attack.
