Your donation could help save thousands of children’s lives
We are on the cusp of a huge breakthrough that could put an end to the pain and suffering that children with rheumatic heart disease endure, but we need your help to make it happen.
A team led by Dr Michael Batzloff at the Griffith University Institute of Glycomics is doing ground-breaking research into rheumatic heart disease. After many years of painstaking work they have developed a vaccine for Group A Streptococcus and are very close to proceeding to the human clinical trial phase.
If Dr Batzloff and his team are successful, and this Group A Streptococcus vaccine becomes part of the standard childhood vaccination program, it has the potential to save the lives of 400,000 children in Australia and around the world - every year.
But there’s still critical research left to do.
We need your support to help Dr Batzloff and his team continue their vital work. It’s a long process and the finish line could be up to five years away. However, if we can help Dr Batzloff and his team produce a vaccine, we can make stories like Ali’s a thing of the past. Find out more about Ali’s story.
Please find it in your heart to help fight rheumatic heart disease. Make a donation online and give children in Australia and around the world a better future.
