Corrina Medway was a local country girl and young mother who tragically lost her life in May 2011, shortly after giving birth to her twin baby girls. Corrina left behind her partner Ben, and her little "Angels", 16 month old son Jack, and newborn twins, Emily and Grace.

A fundraising group titled the “Open Your Hearts Committee”, made up of Corrina's work colleagues from the Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation (RIRDC), local Canberra business, Kowalski Recruitment, and friends and associates, was established to help raise funds to ease the financial burden of this tragedy on Corrina's family.

The Committee will stage a Gala Dinner on Valentine's Day, Tuesday, 14 February 2012. In addition to raising vital funds in support of Corrina's "Angels", the Open Your Hearts Gala dinner will promote key Heart Foundation health messages with a  focus on women and heart disease. The Heart Foundation's Go Red for Women campaign aims to raise awareness of the number one killer of Australian women - heart disease.
