In addition to MI Workshops, the Heart Foundation has produced a resource for health practitioners, the "Motivational Interviewing Professional Development Kit".
The "Kit" comprises:
- DVD number 1 - a presentation on the spirit and skills of MI practice delivered by Clinical Psychologist Dr Stan Steindl.
- DVD number 2 - real patient interviews addressing key behavioural risk factors.
- A health practitioner "reflection tool" - which aims to assist embedding MI into clinical practice. This tear-off sheet can be added to the patient file or used as a practice reflection tool by the clinician for personal professional development
For Queensland only, you may order a free kit by completing the attached form MI Kit Order Form.
Workshop Evaluation
As part of the Heart Foundation’s commitment to quality improvement, participants of one-day MI workshops are asked to complete brief pre and post knowledge surveys. The pre knowledge survey forms part of the registration process (a link to the survey is automatically supplied following successful online registration). The post knowledge survey will be electronically forwarded to participants approximately eight (8) weeks following workshop completion. Survey results will help determine if the MI knowledge gained in the one-day workshops will promote health professional confidence in using MI techniques; MI use and transference into clinical practice and any client/patient health outcomes observed as a consequence of using MI.
Thank you in advance for your assistance with completing these important surveys.
Please contact the Heart Foundation on 07 3872 2562 for further information.
