Local Government smoke-free outdoor areas
Councils have the power to legislate in their own jurisdictions to protect their local communities from the harmful effects of second-hand smoke.
The Heart Foundation, in partnership with other groups and associations, have developed resources to help local governments, business and community groups adopt smoke free policies and provide smoke-free outdoor areas such as playgrounds, sporting fields and alfresco dining areas.
