Walking and cycling parent campaign
The Walking and Cycling Campaign aims to increase the number of children aged 10 to 12 years who walk or cycle to school. A Heart Foundation initiative, the campaign is supported by the departments of Health, Education and Transport, Healthway, the Physical Activity Taskforce and WA Police.
Campaign resources are available below. The brochure includes information on physical activity recommendations for children, health, social and environmental benefits of walking and cycling and safety. Hard copies of the brochure are available on request.

Healthy environments, Healthy children
Healthy environments, Healthy children is a guide for parently groups advocating for walking, cycling and other health issues.
The Heart Foundation and the Western Australian Council of State School Organisations (WACSSO) developed this guide to help parent groups influence their school communities to make positive changes to their environment.
The guide provides information on how to advocate for healthier school and community environments that support walking, cycling and other healthy behaviours. It includes easy-to-use templates, case studies and links to existing programs and services. It complements the term four make tracks2school program.

Unplug + Play parent campaign
The Unplug + Play Parent Campaign targets parents in Western Australia. It aims to increase their awareness of the urgent need for children to spend more time in active play and less time using the TV, electronic games and the internet for entertainment.
Teachers' resources
As Australia's leading heart health charity, the Heart Foundation is the most trusted source of heart health information in Australia. We produce an extensive range of brochures and posters that are fantastic resources for the classroom, such as:

Eat Smart Play Smart is a national program that promotes healthy eating and active play for children that attend outside school hours care (OSHC).
Jump Rope for Heart
Our best known program for schools is Jump Rope for Heart. Since 1983, more than eight million Australian school children have participated in this skipping program for health and fun.
Healthy Ideas for Young Hearts

Healthy Kids
Australian kids are not as healthy as they should be. The Healthy Kids website,developed jointly by the Heart Foundation and the NSW Departments of Health, Education and Training, and Sport and Recreation provides comprehensive, accurate and useful information for teachers to promote healthy eating and active lifestyles in schools.
Six fact sheetshave been translated into 10 languages including Chinese, Macedonian, Arabic, Greek, Italian and Vietnamese. They can be downloaded from the Healthy Kids website.
Charter for Active Kids
The Children’s Physical Activity Coalition (CPAC) have developed a blueprint for active and healthy children in Western Australia called the “Charter for Active Kids”.
