The Recruitment Process
Where jobs are advertised
All current vacancies are advertised on our website, as well as on online job boards, in major newspapers, relevant journals and websites. Some of our positions are also advertised through recruitment agencies.
Applying for a job
Once you have found a position you are interested in applying for, forward your resume and a covering letter addressing the selection criteria to the contact on the advertisement.
Interviews
The first stage of the selection process involves an interview with the short-listed candidates. This interview will generally involve a panel which could include the Manager, Director, CEO, Board Member, HR or an external partner.
The questions you will be asked at the interview will be specific to the position you have applied for. As well as technical questions, you will also be asked competency based interview questions. With these you will be asked to provide the interview panel with specific examples of how you have demonstrated select competencies in previous roles as they relate to the advertised position. Some interviews will also include a scenario, role play or presentation to assist the panel to determine how you would perform in a situation relevant to the position.
It is common for applicants to have multiple interviews as they progress through the recruitment process. You will be kept informed throughout the process of when you will be required to attend.
Decision making process
The manager will finalise their choice of the preferred applicant by using the results from your resume & written application, interview performance and referee checks. Results from criminal history checks and a working with children check (as required) will also influence the decision making process.
Successful applicants
Once all checks are cleared, a verbal offer will be made to the preferred candidate. Following this, a formal letter of employment will be issued outlining all details and terms & conditions of the employment.
Unsuccessful applicants
All applicants will be advised when their application is no longer being considered for the position. This decision is made when other applicants have been assessed as being more suitable to the position due to their greater level of experience of knowledge relevant to the position.
