Employee benefits
At the Heart Foundation, we do our utmost to balance our donors expectations that we use their money wisely against the real need to retain and recognise our employees. In doing so we offer a range of cost effective benefits to our staff.
'Packaging' takes on a whole new meaning when you work for Heart Foundation. Imagine taking home $16,000 tax free every year to pay for those benefits which are most meaningful to you.
As an ATO registered Public Benevolent Institution (PBI) we are exempt from paying Fringe Benefits Tax when providing benefits for our staff. We offer almost complete flexibility to employees in choosing what these benefits may be, up to a certain total value decreed by the ATO. All employees at the Heart Foundation are entitled to maximize this privilege within the scope of their own personal circumstances.
Flexible work arrangements policy
From flexible start and finish times, to 48/52 arrangements, from working at home to taking extended leave without pay, your Heart Foundation CEO is bound by policy to fairly consider all such requests from staff.
Paid maternity and paternity leave
At Heart Foundation we recognise the contribution made by our parents to be, and want to show our commitment to helping you in your time of change. In return, we hope you remain committed to the organisation.
Career breadth opportunities
As a non profit organization, the Heart Foundation is always looking to find help in implementing projects - either internally or externally. If you have a passion for going above and beyond, and are interested in trying your hand at new things, we have plenty of work to go around!
Be health inspired
If you want expert opinion and guidance on how to be physically active, eat well and look after your heart, look no further. Whether it's the lunch room meals of staff, the lunchtime seminars in the boardroom by our health experts, the new real food cookbook recipe testing assignments or the invitations to join in on our fundraising events like city to surf in Sydney or Climb to the Top in Perth, we offer very real motivation and guidance to our staff in how to lead by example.
Global associations
Think working for a charity means no chance for global assignments? Think again. Our senior management team have forged connections with other heart health organisations around the world, including Chairing of the World Heart Federation. The British Heart Foundation and The Heart and Stroke Foundation in Ontario will consider hosting our staff as a part of their development.
