South Australian Cardiovascular Research Development Program
The Heart Foundation and the South Australian Department of Health have partnered to fund cardiovascular research projects in South Australia to the value of $5million over the next seven years.
The South Australian Cardiovascular Research Development Program (SACVRDP) will support high quality research, which is relevant to heart, stroke and blood vessel disease with a focus on supporting early career researchers. The aim of this funding is to stimulate, enhance and sustain the collaborative potential of South Australian researchers.
Both funding entities have recognised that building research capacity in South Australia is critical to reducing cardiovascular risk and ensuring healthier, longer and better lives for all South Australians.
The SACVRDP will provide cardiovascular research funding via a mechanism that is flexible, innovative and unique. It seeks to promote competitiveness for South Australian cardiovascular research at the national and international research level and facilitate the translation of scientific endeavour into health and economic benefits for all South Australians.
Available funding
The SACVRDP will fund two categories of cardiovascular research awards: Development Grants and Research Fellowships.
Development Grants
Research Fellowships
All researchers funded under the SACVRDP will be affiliated with the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute.
