Heart Foundation Research Program
The Heart Foundation Research Program provides an important source of funding for research into the causes, prevention, management and diagnosis of cardiovascular disease and related disorders. We provide funding to researchers working in universities, hospitals and recognised research institutions across Australia.
We support early to mid career researchers through funding for both people and projects. Funding is provided for biomedical, clinical and public health research and award Scholarships, Fellowships, Travel Grants, Summer Scholarships and Grants-in-Aid.
Researcher Spotlight
Dr Christina Bursill
We’ve all heard of cholesterol, yet do we really understand the effects it has on our heart health? Dr Christina Bursill is a talented researcher supported by the Heart Foundation, who is helping us to better understand cholesterol and its role in the development of heart disease. Many researchers are trying to understand different aspects of cholesterol itself; however, Christina is taking a new approach by looking at other molecules in the body that seem to work with cholesterols.
