Cardiovascular disease is the number one cause of death of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

As the leading organisation in the fight against cardiovascular disease in Australia, the cardiovascular health of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people is a high priority for us.

Our Mission

  • To reduce the prevalence of cardiovascular disease and risk factors in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
  • To ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have access to appropriate information and services for the prevention and management of cardiovascular disease.

Our Aims

  • To develop strategies to address issues of cardiovascular health for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
  • To increase awareness of cardiovascular health issues faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
  • To promote collaborative networks within the Indigenous health sector to improve the continuum of care relating to cardiovascular health.
  • To advocate for improved support and information for health professionals.
  • To advocate for an increase of capacity to address the poor cardiovascular health of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
