Heart Failure Treatment

There are many different types of medications used for heart failure treatment. It is important to take all medications as prescribed by your doctor. If you feel your medicine is not working, is causing you problems or you have any questions please discuss them with your doctor. You should not stop taking your medications without talking to him or her.

For some people with heart failure, devices may be implanted in the chest wall and attached to the heart to help it work more effectively e.g. pacemakers, implantable cardiac defibrillators.

In severe cases of heart failure, a heart transplant or other procedure may be considered in the treatment of heart failure.
