Five Steps to a Healthy Life

Australian kids are not as healthy as they should be. Many of them are putting on excess weight and not losing it as they get older. Over the last 20 years, rates of overweight and obesity in children have risen greatly in many countries around the world, including Australia.

If your child has good food habits and undertakes daily physical activity they are well on the way to a healthy life. But achieving this isn't always so simple. The Healthy Kids website, developed jointly by the Heart Foundation and the NSW Departments of Health, Education and Sport and Recreation provides tips on achieving a healthy life and links to other sound information on this topic.

Six of the fact sheets have been translated into 10 languages including Chinese, Macedonian, Arabic, Greek, Italian and Vietnamese. They can be downloaded from The Healthy Kids website.
