Run Your Own Event

As a charity, the Heart Foundation relies on the community’s generosity to fund our lifesaving research and prevention programs. That’s why we are so grateful when people in the community support us by holding their own fundraising events.

One way to raise funds (while also improving your heart health) is to set yourself a physical challenge and ask friends and family to sponsor your efforts. Many of our community fundraisers also come up with their own event ideas like healthy morning teas, walk-a-thons, karaoke nights and trivia nights to name a few.

If you are looking for inspiration you can download our A to Z of Fundraising Ideas (see below to download a copy) to help get your imagination fired up.

Once you've decided how you want to raise funds please follow these simple steps:

  1. Read the Fundraising Guidelines and Tool Kit (see below to download a copy).
  2. Complete and sign the Proposal to Fundraise (see below to download a copy) then return it to us. The Heart Foundation is legally required to approve and authorise all volunteer fundraising events/activities. We will review your Proposal to Fundraise to ensure it fits within our guidelines.
  3. Once your fundraising event/activity has been approved, we will mail you a letter giving confirmation of your Authorisation to Fundraise on behalf of the Heart Foundation. This is your legal authorisation to undertake a fundraising event/activity for the Heart Foundation and conditions apply.
  4. Time to get started!
