The National Local Government Award winners were announced in Mackay on 30 August 2010
Since the Local Government Awards were established in 1992, the Heart Foundation has recognised more than 1000 initiatives that have contributed to improving heart health in Australian communities.
The Awards provide an opportunity for Local Governments to celebrate their achievements and receive recognition for their commitment to creating healthier communities.
In 2011, after 18 years, the Heart Foundation Local Government Awards will take on a new look and name. The Heart Foundation Healthy Community Awards will offer an online entry system, exciting winner incentives and greater recognition of strategic approaches to create and maintain healthy communities.
More information will be available on this page early in the new year or you can contact your local Heart Foundation Coordinator to discuss your entry.
